Am I prejudiced?

As a gay couple, my boyfriend and I went to a New Years Eve party at the home of a co-worker (about 30 people). Being gay means nothing where we live (like being left handed). The hostess' sister and her husband were there visiting from Texas. He is an oil rigger, both are prominant in the local Evangelical Southern Baptist Church and ardent Republicans.Somehow I just knew for sure there would be trouble.Well, they turned out to be just wonderful people. Very warm, friendly and accepting. One of the guys he works with on the oil rig is gay, and they socialize regulary with him and his partner.We ended up exchanging phone numbers and email addresses.............By just lumping them into one sterotypical group, do you think I was the one that was indeed prejudiced?
